Let there be peace

Our dear God

Let there peace in my heart

and my soul will be on a path

in the most beautiful forest

Let there be peace in my family

and our hearts will enjoy harmony

and endless bliss

Let there be peace in my village

and our minds will enjoy love

and kindness will reign

Let there be peace in my country

and happiness will be the norm

devout of all stress and frustration

Let there be peace in the world

and we will be able to tackle problems like never before

and  all may enjoy the richness and blessings of mother earth

Kindness and peace!

 

We have evolved from warring tribes into many loving communities

And that is one of the biggest miracles that have happened in this world

But a few barbaric people have grabbed power through endless lies 

 

Please, our God, let this huge work and that superb miracle 

of having truly loving, helping and free communities around the world

not go to pieces, because of a few handfuls of power-sick greedy minds

 

The peace that was in the air this morning

The love that was surrounding my own community

The superb altruism that has evolved. 

 

So precious. On the surface they seem fragile

But the roots reach deep and let the forest of kindness

be soon lush again, filled with blossoms of Love.

 

That amazing Love with capital L 

 

A drop

Our life is but a drop 

Every hour is like a molecule in that drop

We drink molecule after molecule,

and often fail to be aware of the beauty inside the drop

 

I pray today that we all

appreciate a bit more consciously the value of a day,

the value of every molecule in the drop of life.

Sometimes stress is here, 

but let us build 

some moments of love

some moments of peace

some moments of beauty 

some moments of creativity

inside every day, 

inside every hour.

 

Such moments are often already there

It is a matter of becoming fully aware...

Dear Creator,

Please help me to notice today 

all the small and big opportunities to help others

I know every day we get tens and tens of them

but all too often they go unnoticed

because we are too busy with our business

The Path

There is a request in prayers every day

to be shown our God's path, His magnificent way

A simple request, Thy will be done on earth

A simple request; but what is it really worth

if it is not accompanied by any thorough reflection

if it is not followed by any meaningful action?

 

If we just ramble on, saying the words as fast as we can

how will our prayer benefit us or any other man?

Let us think during our prayer about what to do or not

to be on that path, to follow the will of our God.

Since the gifts and talents differ for me and for you

we really have to think for ourselves what we should do

 

In my imagination I see a diamond path, smooth and bright.

Being right in the middle brings us peace of mind, pure delight,

even if we just manage to be in the middle for a while.

It happens mostly just after we walk the figurative extra mile

When we went out of our way 

to make a bit better the day

of a brother or sister, foe or friend,

in the middle of that path, we land.

 

A  simple bout of anger or unfriendliness

and we sway off the path into a bout of stress

It puts us in the mud far from that way, into a mess

until our heart returns to love and kindness

I hope, my God, more often I can tune into virtue

because that brings us a bit closer to You

It brings us to that middle of that wonderful way

Let us be there, now, tomorrow and every day.

 

For a caregiver

 I want to pray for a nurse

For the nurses in my ward, taking care of babies. For their strength of heart, to give so much love and loving, living care to the sickest of our patients and to give their amazing support to the parents of these babies.

I want to pray for a caregiver in an elderly home

For those taking care of the elderly or disabled. For their strength and commitment to give their never ending loving care to those who truly need it. 

I want to pray for a parent

For those taking care of children, for the continued love and strength that the children receive each day, for the care, I pray for them

Our God, please continue to bless them with the sweet satisfaction of giving care, with the great peace of mind of seeing a sign of relief or a smile.

My God,
Let me get a bit closer to You.

allow the silence around me
and hope that within, 
Your wisdom
will bubble up and boil over...

I am holding my heart in my hands

I present it to God and the sea
They fill it with wonderful feelings
It belongs more to you than to me

The colors of water and sky
My mind connects to them both
And there is my God and the world
Filling it with some wonderful thought

My Heart and mind melt in my soul
I truly connect to my source
My God, my Lord, and Creator of all,

The gift of peace

The tranquility of the night
touches my heart and mind.
a stillness emerges and
reaches deep inside
connecting to my quiet soul

My soul shines a soft and glowing light
on all emotions and turbulence of the day
I relive them but without the edges
I refeel them them but no sharp points
bitterness morphs into softness
softness morphs into love

The tranquility of the night
listening to my soul
love and wisdom
the gift of peace

When I wake up,
and my mind tries to be grateful for waking up,
but in my heart I want to go back to sleep,
I decide not to fight my heart and close my eyes.

I had thought it great to be grateful, and perhaps, it is truly great,
but with my eyes closed, I just want to be close, close to our God.

When I get a bit closer, a little bit closer
I can feel the love and peace, coming from outside
and moving in, into my soul

I pray for my soul, my soul prays for me
I just want to be in tune with love
in tune with peace,
guided by love
guided by peace

And then I feel the gratefulness welling up
I feel like waking up and be alive
Alive in love, living love
loving and caring
guided by our God.

To be, to live

Today, I want to pray,
to pray in a special way,
not to have or to get more
but to be a bit better
to live a bit better

I pray for enough alertness
to see and act on the many opportunities
that today, as each other day,
will present themselves to me
to help, to assist, to elevate others a bit
to inspire, to alleviate some sorrow,
to create a simple smile.

I pray for the wisdom
to walk through the day
with an open heart, an open mind
ever ready to understand something new
to know a bit more
to see the world from many angles

I pray for my wife and sons,
that they may get the same alertness
that they may get the same wisdom,
that they may find joy in selfless service
that they may walk Your path
that wonderful path filled with grace
filled with love and kindness
filled with harmony and peace
filled with strength and inspiration
filled mercy and tenderness
filled with gratefulness

I pray for my larger family
for all who work with me, for me,
for all my neighbours, my patients,
my friends and foes
I pray that the world will move fast
to this wonderful kindness revolution,
that is really standing in front of our door.

Let us live a life towards that great Vision.
Please, God, Use my body, my heart, my mind and soul
to achieve that greater Vision for humanity
I am ready to serve.
Please, God, help me to be ready to serve forever...

Caring

The so called small things
tend to have an impact on our life
in a way, few of us understand.

A simple thought of gratitude
A word of kindness
A loving smile

While waiting for the next big thing to come,
we can take care in a big way of small things
We give lots of thoughts to the small good deeds

Many small things well done,
will result in something big.

Soul

At ten thirty pm, I was sitting on the beach.
It was dark, no moon, but stars were shining.
I listened to the sound of the waves,
I looked at the waves in scanty light,
I could hear the peace in the air,
I could see the peace in the sea,
I could feel it in my heart and
my soul, the most peaceful part of me
came right to the surface of my being.

It remained there for a long time,
before slowly withdrawing
to its own deep depths.

Oh, my God,
let my soul come back to the surface
and let it be there for ever.

You and me, and all

I pray,
that one day
very soon
you and me
and he and she
and all the others
in the whole world
will see that we were made
to serve each other.

Thoughts of love are so much involved in the process, whenever we pray. It is almost impossible to think about our Creator and not think about love, or Love (with the capital L). And yet for so many people in this world, prayer is comprised of merely mechanically repeating a few phrases they memorized a long time ago without giving it a lot of thought or feeling. Once we start to think, and think deeply and feel, feel deeply while we pray, our prayers tend to get so much more meaningful. 

Many people see prayer as a sacrifice, that they make for our Creator.
Once we pray with mind and heart and soul, it does not longer feel like that.
It becomes a joy, rather than a sacrifice!

My sons

To the most gracious
and the most forgiving
Creator of this world, I pray

I pray for my sons

My sons,
may our dear Creator give you wisdom,
wisdom to live a life filled with goodness.
Goodness from you to others
and goodness from others to you.

    Wisdom to live a life filled with sharing
    A life filled with joy and peace of mind
    A life filled with genuine happiness and honesty
    A life filled with respect from you and for you.

May our dear Creator give you love
a life filled with love
a loving wife and loving children
loving friends and loving neighbors.

    Our hearts are full of love
    May our dear God help you to bring it out
    to give it away to all around you
    to receive love from all around you.

and give you a life of safety
and good health

from excessive sin

May our dear God show you His path

Compassion and Wealth

My God,
Give me endless compassion
Give me endless love
endless kindness
and abundant wealth

Give the wisdom to value
endless love, endless kindness
and endless compassion,
at least as much as
abundant wealth

If I will manage this,
I will have a life full,
filled with love, kindness
filled with compassion
and yes also abundant wealth

Love our enemies

Muslims consider Jesus as a prophet.
Buddhists call him a Buddha
The Hindus think he was a Yogi

The Christians see him as the Son of God

There have few men who lived on earth
who have been so revered.

He was teaching us love
But many others were teaching us love too.
The love he taught however went one step further
He asked us to love not only our friends but also our enemies
He asked us not to slap back but give our other cheek

Even though one cannot but stand in awe for these teachings,
and almost everyone on earth has heard about them,
there are so few of us, belonging to any religion,
who manage to follow these teachings in our own life.
Even most of the Christians have willfully ignored
these teachings throughout time.

People who truly tried to live according to these teachings,
the ones coming easily to mind include Marther Luther King Jr,
Ghandi, and perhaps Francis of Assisi. All have been extremely successful
in achieving what the passion of their heart has been.

If we love our enemies, it won't be long before our enemies love us.
and enmity will cease to exist altogether
If we offer our other cheek, the slapping will end
and violence may cease to exist altogether

It is so easy to see and understand
and yet so difficult to do.

I pray to our Creator,
Please my God, Please Allah,
Let me, Let us all, love more and be kind, even in the most difficult situations.
Love is truly the way of our Creator. 
Everyone knows
but so few of us manage to truly live it.

A world without money

I dream of a world without money
where each of us serve
according to our talents
just for the pleasure of serving.

Money was made to ensure fair trades
so that everyone gets compensated
according to the level of work they deliver

But this is not happening.
Money is not fairly distributed
Money is not fairly paid
The financial world has become
a huge parody, a mockery of fairness and justice

So let us forget about fairness and justice.
There will be always people who do not want to work
There will be always people who serve less than others
The world may be never fair.

But isn't it about time that we get out of the slavery of money
Isn't it about time we start fully enjoying the pleasure of selfless service
Isn't it about time we give up our enormous hunger for money.
IF enough people would give selfless free service,
the need for money would disappear.
It would be a world much fairer than anything we have today.
Those who do not participate in the service will enjoy the service of others
without rendering service themselves, but they will miss out on the great pleasure
that selfless service brings. They will be actually on the losing end.

May sound like a wild, wild dream,
but somewhere deep inside there is a spark of hope, my God,
that enough people will get inspired by Your great Love.

The world is changing and it is changing fast.
Let us take this unlikely turn towards
a worldwide united loving society

a world where money lost all value
a world where all contribute to the good
of each other
